Northplanet vacated from a small, four-person, serviced office based in Chadderton just over 2 years ago on a mission to find a new creative home in Oldham town centre.
After a couple of months searching the local area, the team worked with James Toulan from Oldham Council in order to find and secure the ideal premises for their next chapter - the top floor of 169 Union Street.
With almost 2,000sq. ft of space, Northplanet now had the perfect blank canvas to start their refurbishment process inside a funky shaped building with a great view.
After years of collaboration and working hand-in-hand on wide variety of versatile projects, Luke and Danny, owners of Northplanet realised how much potential there was from working alongside very similar industries.
Luke’s background is design, graphics and sign manufacturing whilst Danny had a completely different set of skills being a full stack web developer.
Over time, both had almost acquired each others skills through constantly working, brainstorming, problem-solving and building innovative projects together. This is coworking!
2 years later and the lads have re-carpeted, installed new windows and blinds, plastered and painted, added signage and decoration and full kitted out their space to offering a modern, open-plan, creative coworking environment - a cost-effective and people driven work place right here in Oldham and it’s called Space Campus!
Space Campus encourages collaboration between its members and associates via co-working, networking, events and training classes by creating new opportunities to connect with each other, collaborate on projects and tasks, integrate with small groups and grow our businesses through learning and acquiring knowledge in a dynamic working environment.
Based in the heart of Oldham, Greater Manchester, Space Campus is a digital and creative co-working space on the top floor, above what used to be Mountainfeet - a locally well-known mountain equipment store. Accessible from Manchester City Centre, Bury, Rochdale and Shaw via bus or the Metrolink system, Space Campus is less than a one-minute-walk away from Mumps Station at the bottom of Union Street and Yorkshire Street. If you are driving, then its just off the A62. Pay-and-display parking is available within the area.
Who shares a coworking space?
Space Campus is made up of diverse groups of like-minded individuals, start-ups, micro-businesses and small established businesses who either work in isolation, in a smaller office, home office or cafe. It's members and associates understand the significant value and power of collaboration stimulated from on-the-fly encounters, conversing over coffee, group lunch breaks or being connected through events and training sessions organised within Space.
